Those solutions are found with buying non crappy hardware designed by monkeys banging on keyboards.
TV with RS232 control or Discreet IR on and off commands. and a Surround sound AMP that has rs232 control.
Even my DVD player has RS232.
Problem is, device makers like to hide the fact their IR control or RS232 control is junk or useless. Sony products are a crap shoot, LG were good up until the last release, now they are crap. Panasonic and Kenwood still have real control, but you never know when they decide that designing a good product is a bad idea and switch to making things crappy.
Merantz 4003 dvd player is awesome, but discontinued, the new ones are crap or overpriced. Sony BLuray used to have discreet ir on and off, the latest model did away with the discreet on and off.
Look for integrator friendly devices. this means fishing in high end integrator forums.

I dont have to rip the latest Office episode off of my Dish receiver, I get a version that is clean and has all commercials cut out off the bittorrents 10 minutes after the episode ends. I would record it myself (no I dont want their DVR, it sucks. I want my MythTV DVR or a TiVo that allows commercial skipping) I am not interested in sharing the episode, I want to watch it on my terms and on my timetable.
DRM is a epic fail. All it does is get in the way of the person wanting to be legal. IT is not even a speed bump to those that give up and go to the dark side. Hell even the dark side has low to no risk if you know how to do it.
If I WANT a copy of the movie I am streaming, I'm certianly not going to rip the 320X240 version you are sending to the phone. I'll add the DVD to my disc list and rip it when it shows up.
WTF is the paranoia over DRM on a very low quality phone video stream? Nobody will even WANT to rip that stream, That is the best DRM possible, make it a crappy quality.
If you want a WP7 or Kin2.5 or whatever, get a Nokia smartphone and get better for less money.

The open source Gametable http://rptools.net/ rptools could use this to translate tabletop real minnatures to virtual for distance gaming or as a UI to move your object and it moves the token on screen for a top down projection. etc.....

Then you have to pay 6 figures each for Highly skilled and experienced IT staff instead of low 5 figures for the Freshly tested MCSE churnouts from University OF Pheonix. You have to have IT managers that have at LEAST 10 years experience in the IT field and IT security field, not some moron with a BSA degree that knows the CEO's daughter.
The US will forever lag behind the world in IT and IT security if you don't start paying for highly skilled and experienced professionals, and TREAT THEM AS SUCH!

Forced password change has to be complex and meet rules.
Manual pasword change has less rules.
I usually do their dance, log in and change my password back to my 40 char password that I have used for 4 years. Works like a charm.
