    Of course Charles Babbage holds the claim for longest vaporware project at 153 years. And also apparently the longest unfixed bug.

    One bright little commenter on El Reg suggested that another reason for Apple buying this company could be for a console release, as Apple recently acquired a patent which could be for console gaming.

    Apple's already been down that road with the late unlamented Apple Pippin I doubt they would go there again as they don't have the resources to compete against the big 3 console makers.

    History shows that any "fence" or edifice to "security" is almost always, like the Great Wall designed to keep it's citizens in, rather than invaders out.

    Keep the government fenced up sounds like a good idea to me.

    He misses the most obvious way of making Mysql pay and that is Java. If Sun goes down the same route that Microsoft is with Sql Server/.NET and integrates Java into Mysql, Sun gets a powerful new platform for the enterprise.
