The Quake source code. Recently released under the GPL. The readme specifically says that if you can't live with having to release your changes, a different license can be negotiatied (for $$$).
Trolltech and QT. While this is not GPLed, it is released under QPL for free software development, and if you want to develop commercially you pay for the professional license.
I guess the main point with Microsoft, that's often missed, is that the anti-trust suit is NOT about Microsoft now, but their status and actions in the past.
The whole world could switch to Linux tomorrow, and it still wouldn't, or at least shouldn't, affect the case.
Um, yes, but Murdoch was recently denied permission to buy Manchester United Football (read:soccer, US folks) Club, on the grounds that this would give him way too much power over sports broadcasting in the UK.
Well, alternatively, they could release them all now, and then when the whole series is finished, put even more pointless CGI all over all the films, chuck in even more stupid songs that no-one will like, and release the Super Special Edition box-set, which all the Star Wars fans will obviously have to go and buy, cos it's, like, Star Wars.

Gattaca isn't my favourite film but it is certainly thought-provoking, ditto Jurassic Park and many others.
And if I wanted to know what really happened with the whole Jesus thing I wouldn't read the bible, either.
Productivity isn't just an individual attribute, it also applies to machines and enterprises.
This is the fundamental problem. If your only concern is productivity, then sure, this is the case. I and I suspect many other people happen to think that the worker is more than a mere creator of value, because they're human.

You do have another option of course.
No, we can't moderate writers, but what you can do is, if you don't like a story, simply don't reply to it.
If certain writers consistently get no comment at all apart from the First Posters and stuff, then the message will be got.

It's called Alien, and I can't remember anything about it except I found it on Freshmeat a while ago.
The one time I used it to convert from dpkg to rpm it worked fine.
