Reliable, carrier grade high speed internet connections are a must before voice over IP can
be considered a real alternative to conventional phone lines. Regulators by making high speed internet an essential service would by the same token remove one of the major hurdles that has prevented voice over IP to replace conventional analog phone lines so far. I can't wait to ditch my local telco:)

I wonder how long it will take before MS removes support for Java applets in IE...
