That would have a been a bitting satire, expect for 55 mph speed limit on freeways, one-way systems really do suck, and driving while black being an offense.

That is the only way to get anything done right. No methodology or algorithm is a substitute for that. As Godel has proved mathematically.

Not Possible, if the search is supposed to respond quickly. the machine will have to make outgoing requests to search page to check if they exist, even done in parallel this is gone to quite a performance hit. At the minimum you want get a responce until the slowest website found has responced.

First off, this isn't really creating life from scratch, what their doing is stripping down prexisting (in nature) plans for bacteria to the bare minimum and making the simplest bacteria they can. Their borrowing all the stuff like the genetic code, the ideas of DNA, RNA, proteins from nature. The organism they create will be very feeble since it only has the bare minimum to survive (if it really will survive at all). On the regilious note, rembember that the Human Race is supposed to be god's childern. Well Children grow up, at what else could god's children grow up to be except gods themselves. The next millenium is just the begin of humanity adultlence on its long road to goddom.

Applets slow? Well it wouldn't make sense to code quake3 in a java applet. But i'd did get quite a way with a gaunlet/diablo style game in java and it ran quite fast enough thank you, and that was in the days when IE3.0 and PII-266 were high end. PS. If anyone wants to resurrect the project, i'd still got the source, graphics, server code and the map designer available. I'd GPL it of course.
