Record of my birth is available online, as is Obama's grandparents, his kids, his wife. While I would think that someone would actually verify, I don't think I've ever heard of any process currently in place for any politician to verify accuracy of citizenship.
It's bound to be an issue eventually.
John McCain was born in the Panama Canal Zone to U.S. parents. He moved to the U.S. in 1986 at age 44. 14 years later, he ran for President (2000). That's the minimum amount of time you must have residency in the U.S. Most countries require you to renounce your secondary citizenship by age 18. Did he?
I have been doing a little digging into Obama's past, and there is no known record of his birth. Funny enough, he was born 1 year after a major census (1961), then moves to Indonesia with his mother in 1968, returning in 1971. Now, I know Hawaii first became a state on August 21, 1959, and his mother graduated from a Seattle school in 1960. Shortly after he graduation her family moved to Hawaii. Some articles I've found imply that his mother and father met in the late 1950's. Other reports taken from when he was running for senator in Illinois show inconsistencies with each other. When he was old enough to go to school, He'd already been living on foreign soil. His parents were apparently married in 1960, though invalid due to the fact he was already married at the time. But why isn't there any real record available online of his birth? Being that Hawaii had only been a state for a little short of 2 years at the time of his proclaimed birth, I wonder if there is even a true record. His sister mention them going to Mosque on Fridays only on special occasions, but she was born the year he moved back to Hawaii.
And at first I though, oh... He must have a drivers license, but I know in the 90's, if you didn't have a copy of your birth certificate, then your Parent/Guardian could vouch for you instead. I really thought that the news media would have dug into this at least once. Someone must have questioned it. Wouldn't you? Which brings up another candidate... John McCain (ran in 2000 and runs in 2008) was born in the Panama Canal Zone to U.S. parents. If he is the front runner, the question should be asked... Is it unconstitutional for him to become president?
With so many inconsistencies, I would want to ensure we have accurate records that couldn't have been altered or fabricated.
