I thought about using piezo material years ago. Weather dependent energy devices are iffy at best, wind and solar are too intermittent. Why not harness all the sidewalks, roads, dance floors where vehicle and foot traffic abound.
Feet pounding the pavement seem more reliable that raindrops.
