That's well and good. Everyone loves good sniffers, but maybe you should attatch some information about how we can protect our sensitve information. To stop those crackers from getting at my supply of pron. Again.
I couldn't help but notice the comment about how it'd be nice to rip ads from webpages. But, I was distracted by the flashing at the top of http://slashdot.org/ telling me that I should be IBM Certified. Nice. Rough night?
How does this make it legal? Instead of downloading illegally copied music freely one will have to pay, albeit very little, it still doesn't seem to be the answer to the problems napster is facing.
It would seem like a good idea if it were record companies who were trying to provide this as a service to those interested in electronic copies of music, but it's not.
You have to remeber the simple fact that too many cooks spoil the soup. Sure, it would be very nice to take back the network, but can you honestly imagine a reality where users control themselves? If that were true there would be no need for vaults, police, laws, or any of the other modern wonders you and I hold so dear. It's a good thought, yet impractical and damn-fool-idealistic. There is no spoon.
This is so obvious, why not have a telephone-tech-support day? What would the world do without someone telling us to reboot windows?! There is no spoon.
Microsoft does not actually rule the world. If not for the DOJ it would have ventured out of the computer industry toward almost every other medium: telephone, television, newspaper, etc. The rules of our government put strict limitations on what corporations can do. Microsoft did dominate the computer industry, but as of right now computers are not the center of everyone's lives.

You're right, of course. I noticed that much, anyway.
I don't agree with the laws but that doesn't mean I don't have to obey them.

You are obviously one of those nitwitts that rates an operating system on a boolean scale...
It's either good or bad.
It's either Linux or not Linux.
Perhaps he should have said, "...AIX is an excellent OS, though obviously not as excellent as Linux..."
Why is there no spoon?
If you're unhappy with the archtitecture why wait for Intel to "fix" it? Get a Mac, Alpha, Sparc, or VAX.
Don't be stupid because your mom said you could..Be stupid because you are.

This is great! I WAS planning on getting a dog soon, but I would have to walk AIBO. Best of all, I can save money on shots in favor of batteries.
