Unlikely, now that reflective color LCDs are available (and in more than the color gameboy).
I don't consider the color game boy to be a good example. Since it's a reflective color screen, the lighting has to be at just the right angle. Outside, it's unusable. Backlit color LCDs might be better, but grayscale is the most readable.
