An interesting side-effect of this plan, but I'm sure they'll put it to good use. Plus, it's not like $20 billion would be better spent anywhere else, right?
Scientists often expect to be believed simply because they are scientists. This doesn't work, you have to present as much evidence on a comprehensible issue if you want to be believed.
Regardless of this, there are always people who won't believe something, regardless of how widely believed or how (not) controversial it is. Intentional ignorance is unavoidable, sadly.
I don't see why anybody not in this field would care at all. The only use I've seen of evolution in relation to the population at large is to convince everybody that all religions are wrong.
I don't see any point in trying to "educate" people about a topic that does not affect them in any way, especially if that topic is going to cause more trouble than good.
Some people buy stars or diamonds in space, but I'm smart enough to know that that sort of thing is a really impractical gift.
I already bought a ranch on the moon for my future wife. Best. Gift. Ever.

It sure isn't true anymore. I see an article about a porn star on the front page almost weekly. This hypocrisy is the main reason I hate AOL.
