ya but there's lots of red-tape in applying for that fraud liability. And usually from internet scams by the time you know you're credit card is in the hands of a 3l33t h4x0r he's charged possibly thousands of dollars to the card. By the time this all goes through it can have already ruined your credit rating. Once you're in the "bad credit" section of any banks or credit companies it's extremely hard to get out.

When corel ripped of Debian and i first tried apt get with it i kept getting a million errors when i was getting them off the main debian site. I emailed corel about this and they said that they made some "enhancements" .debs to make it easier and to use any corel site(of which DEFINATELY don't have as many packages as ftp.debian.org).

I quickly returned to Storm Linux which is, as far as i can tell, 100% compatible with REAL .debs only uses a purty (and quite handy actually) GUI. So long as they leave the .debs alone I'm happy.

ya i figured as much. you kinda think that they would have just given them a pipe and a box to run off of openBSD. if the wrong people notice that it's running of solaris(managment types, sigh) then they'll come to the conclusion that they're wannabees and that "OpenBSD isn't even good enough to run the servers of the people that make the OS. Then again i the way BSD people are i doubt they care. THat just means that there's one less person who shouldn't be running BSD that now won't, which is also a good thing.

There is something like that for NetBSD here. But it's really just an install disk and lets you do an FTP install to your HD. which doesn't really matter because if you're using a comp as a firewall/NAT then you probably aren't going to be using it for anything else and can wast the small HD on an old comp. But ya, an OpenBSD one that fits on a single floppy would be cool.

The nightly builds are sweet. right now i'm running mozilla in win2k with 2 windows and it's only taking 5,545K of memory...only 200K more than IE, and i've only got 1 IE window open and IE is integrated and optimized into 2000.

now if they can only do something for ICQ 2000's bloat.. almost 11 megs. they really need an ICQ lite (like winamp lite, only we really NEED and ICQ lite). Is there an ICQ clone for windows? i've never really looked. One thing i love about Licq/Gnome ICU is that compared to the official ICQ releases they are small, fast and have all the features anybody ever needs, plus a few more good ones(SSL, spoofing...although i question the spoofing one).

What I want to know is how much help they'll give for Debian BASED distros. I'm not talking about Corel since they fucked Debian around soo much. I use Storm Linux. It uses apt-get (therefore it uses .deb). It's essentially Debian with real KDE support, not that I have KDE installed anyways, but Storm detected and ran my Voodoo 3 3000 with out any problems where as with Mandrake, SUSE and Red Hat it crashed X every time.

Mandrake is one of the best Distros out there, even Linus himself says he uses it(along with SUSE and Caldera), but I hate RPMs with such a passion. I think that Madrake only based thier distro on Red Hat is because it's the more established "standard" and would be easier for newbs.
