I got 20 inches too. The storm shifted east, spared NYC somewhat, and still dumped a lot of snow in the NY metropolitan area. It means luck was on most people's side during the late night hours, though Not mine.
A company called Tekton bought the molds for the old Kenner Girder and panel sets and manufacture them in Boston. The best of the sets that would fit your needs for the higher end of your age range is the Girder and Panel Hydrodynamic Deluxe Set (Amazon has it here http://www.amazon.com/Girder-Panel-Hydrodynamic-Deluxe-Set/dp/B000PVVQMU/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=toys-and-games&qid=1290302783&sr=1-3 ). The company also makes the bridge set, which I have in it's original 1960's Kenner version. I have played with this set as an adult and it too makes an excellent choice.
A big reason that traditional radio stations are in the hands of conglomerates only is because the cost of the antenna, broadcast equipment, and the scarcity of available frequency makes it extremely expensive to start a new terrestrial radio station. A Net radio station only needs a Net connection and some open source applications. The 25K means individuals are no longer able to run a free Net radio station. It will also knock out college radio stations who simultaneously stream the terrestrial broadcasts they deliver for no fee. Hobby Net radio is dead in this country. Of course, the agreement only applies to the US so overseas folk can pick up the slack...for now. A shame really and not the win Pandora calls it. It just helps the mid-sized VC-funded
It goes to show that while the music industry blames everything on piracy, these problems are much more broad, complex and self-induced. Self-induced, because for many years the mom and pop record stores that were so good for the record industry complained the major labels had become very bad partners. Bullies was one word an independent record store called them as I remember from one those articles from the 1990's. Anyway, even when I walk into a record store with a good selection of music, CDs for $15.98 (heck $18.98) only do one thing for me. Induce me to walk out. The last CD I bought was a box set two years ago, sold at 60% off because the local Sam Goody went out of business.
I posted this on/. Saturday HD-DVD and the Early Adopter Premium. HD-DVD is dead, but with new-in-box players now so cheap ($75) and HD-DVD movies dropping to less than ten bucks - Amazon just announced they will unload titles for $8.95 - the article makes a strong case that the dead technology has arguably become the better fiscal strategy. How? The user goes HD-DVD until Blu-ray player prices drop below $100. For less than the present day $400 cost of a Blu-ray player you can buy an HD-DVD player today ($75) + a Blu-ray player tomorrow ($100) + 22 HD-DVD videos from Amazon.
