NS6 will ship with the latest VM (1.3), it's worth the wait. IE users can still d/l the plugin. let's hope sun & ms resolve their difference and get everybody on the same speed. NS4.x still ships with 1.1.5!!
might as well go with solaris 8 on x86 (free) and cheaper hardware - VALinux is low to mid range, but the real deal is Solaris (uptime, scalability, etc...)
we've seen with the hotspot java vm 100% increase in speed and significant decrease in footprint - this is all due to the profiling info. it collects while running code. Same goes with crusoe morphing layer. Now what would be interesting is to see HotSpot on Crusoe vs. MAJC!
