    Ignorance is contagious.

    Thanks to years of social programs, and other unconstitutional spending, the US is over 100 trillion dollars in debt, counting the unfunded liabilities to Social Security and Medicare. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that the current levels of spending can't be maintained. Maybe Bill Gates and the kind liberal folks in Silicon valley won't mind bailing us out? Why don't we nationalize their businesses, and confiscate their wealth? It's the liberal thing to do, right?

    Umm.. This is a common misconception spread by the left. A tax cut is just a reduction of the amount you'll be required to pay to the government.

    No money is being taken from the poor and given to the rich. The "rich" are already paying more than their fair share as a percentage of their income. It's only common sense that the same percentage of their tax burden is going to be more in dollars than that of someone who pays almost no taxes.

    You'd think the average slashdot reader could figure out the third grade math.

    Americans are only slaves to the government and taxes.

    Without Capitalism, would we have all these flashy new toys to play with? (phones with color displays and cameras) Hardly. If there was a cell phone at all, you'd have a "choice" of the ONE state made phone in black or grey. You'd have to wait on a list for 3 years to get one, and you'd be lucky if the one you got doesn't catch fire and burn your home to the ground.

    I guess I shouldn't be surprised to see all the hate and intolerance against Christianity here.

    The liberals don't support vouchers so parents can send their children to the schools that support patriotism and religion, then they do all they can to remove such things from public schools.

    Sounds like a conspiracy to me.

    Face it. This country was founded by Christians. There's no way this was their intention when writing the constitution. These kinds of rulings are just a perversion. The founding fathers are probably rolling over in their graves.

    The tenth amendment states that, "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."

    This means that other than the powers explicitly enumerated to the federal government, all others either belong to the states, or to the people.

    Of course, the interstate commerce clause has been bastardized to allow the federal government to gain power that was not intended by the Constitution. I'm sure they can find a way to claim authority since the internet crosses state lines.

    I think the problem with your argument is that the the constitution says that all rights belong to the people with exception to those explicitly given to the government. Some of the "founding fathers" did not want a bill of rights because it could be use to limit other rights. I think the 9th ammendment explains it pretty clearly,
    "The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people."

    This ammendment was added to appease the dissenters who didn't want to specifically enumerate the rights of the people. Only specific rights were granted to the government. Unfortunately, by twisting the meanings of things like "interstate commerce", and creating unconstitutional "executive orders", they've been able to grant themselves more power. It's time we take that power back.

    It's important that we elect people who will stand up for the constitution. We didn't get to be the greatest nation in the world because freedom and capitalism suck. I'm tired of being put down by the jealous socialists in Europe who only wish they had it as good as we do in the USA!

    I have to agree that the quality of most CA products is quite poor. We're trying to implement CA Unicenter here. Basically it's an enterprise "network management solution." It uses SNMP and special agent software that runs on all the machines in your enterprise that are to be monitored. Unfortunately, the agents for Solaris, DG/UX, Ingres, and Novell did not work correctly out of the box. We have been working with support for months trying to get things working. We've been sent patches that have fixed some of the problems. One of the patches completely destroyed the Solaris box that we were testing on. :( You'd think that since they are up to version 2.2 the product should be pretty stable.
