Recently several local libraries yanked all internet access. The logic behind this was simple the overly litigous society we (America) have become.
If filtering sofware was in place, then the ACLU would have grounds for a lawsuit. If filtering software was not in place then the Xian (and probably to an equal extent, the ultra-liberal) groups would sue.
Quicktime? The last version I downloaded was an excellent example of every UI annoyance known to man. Crappy controls, layout and brilliant nag screen...
Real's a little better, once you figure out how to hide all of the lame links that they're trying to p1mp on you.
Maybe one day streaming media will be worth something. For now if I want to watch choppy, grainy pictures I'll dig out my grandfather's old 8mm.
If they're not out touring, chances are they're shitty corporate productions and not real bands anyway.
ALL bands should be forced out on the road (maybe not at the rate of 100+ shows per year a la Henry Rollins) to prove themselves.
I'm sure the members of the Mighty Black Sabbath would agree. And Henry Rollins too, for that matter.

Unfortunately no one will stop clueless morons who refuse to read FAQ's. Actually, I guess refuse to read anything. Imagine scanning the headers in a group and not seeing "how do I view these files", "add me too", "all is see is wierd text", etc...
>>this dang web browser mega-bug I can't turn off as opposed to Nutscrape which as everyone knows never crashes, has a much cleaner interface, and is not owned by a monolithic money hungry company.
...is that the any part of the government can unfuck a poor decision in this short of a time period. And for all those who insist that there should be some kind of regulations for the home: Piss off. Unless you're forced to work at home, you have absolutley no ground to stand on. And even then, you're probably paid well enough to by your own chair. PLaNetJoe and all you monkeys need some exercise.
from a wealthy and politically connected family. Someone who can argue passionately about the smaller issues while bending over to corporate America every time on the things that really matter. Someone who looks good on TV. Someone who defended the nation from the Mexican Viet-Cong or spent a summer overseas under heavy protection because he was a senator's son.
What a poor joke the American political system really is.
