But that's the point really. Those industries have TRIED that. Introducing patented mechanis tools and then trying to use the DMCA to keep you from repairing your own car... Congresscritters own lots of CARS so it was was easy for them to grasp when their local mechanics couldn't fix those cars.

Frankly, they were irresponsible not to give their Lego dude (or girl) a helmet and air tank. Not to mention the OSHA violations being forced to stand on a ledge at 80k feet with no seatbelt or railings! I think the minifigures need some kind of union against these dangerous experiments.
Lastly, did they make sure their guy wasnt on a no-fly list. He looks European... But with those foreign sounding names national security should have been contacted... They even took pictures of how many people they put in danger!!! At least they didn't attach the balloon to any sharks... Teens and science are just irresponsible.
If putting Ted Kennedy (a Senator for decades and brother to one of the more famous Presidents) on the no-fly list didn't get their attention don't hope for much.
A better one.... This is exactly how much content will be left when every publisher and celebrity makes up a reason to force Wikipedia to take down their pages.
Wikipedia has cleaned up its copyright problems... But it could never have been created in the enviroent about to be unleashed.
Maybe that is the argument to make: List every large tech company that violated the hell out of IP laws they want to impose on everybody else. Microsoft, Cisco, Apple, etc could all have been kicked off the Internet (if we had the Internet) when they were "growing up".
It already DID cost airlines money.... Congress would rather bail out than back down now. The "security" industry is probably a significant size compared to the airline industry atvthis point... And then they'd have to move all their stuff!!
Anybody designing these machines has to know the rules. The industrial one are necessary to be amped up and VERY clear they are not for people.
The people selling these know it's a gravy train they riding. Just like the telcos, there is certainly assured immunity from lawsuits when improper maintenance makes these even WORSE for radiation.
Now if we can just determine corporate tax rates based on how well companies take care of their matural resources. It's not like corporations shop around for countries that dont enforce OSHA and EPA guidelines as strictly as Europe does? I always get a kick that the first thing all theseCEOs of large companies want is to take away free market choice from employees so the Company can do what's best for them.
