Thank you AC!
I don't care what the rest of you have GOTTEN AWAY with.
You _need_ everything that fyngyrz (762201)has indicated.
Otherwise just stay away from you own electrical system and definitely out of MY neighbourhood!... and I don't even want to think about the voltage drop in your "long extension cord" and the damage it will do to any electrical motors it is trying to feed.
The costs in danger to humans and damage to equipment much higher than your discomfort at not having power.
Just do it RIGHT!
After wading through the postings, it is obvious to me that if the posters that identified themselves as male are a representative sample of guy geeks, then no wonder women are avoiding CS.
With a few exceptions (and thank you for those) the postings have been simplistic and essentialize males and females in ways that make it obvious that the posters have never studied or can't remember any sociology or psychology.
I am female and I worked as a licensed mechanic for 30 years and although I surely loved the work, it was guys like you that finally drove me out. There were not enough neutral ones to counterbalance the others.
Another thing to consider is that women do talk to each other and every negative experience usually gets discussed. Decisions about careers are made in context and not in isolation.
Something else is happening in the Dead Sea. Those who are left behind have an easy time assuming that they are the right ones to inherit the kingdom and will be looking for more like themselves. This may be very appropriate for a time and place so they may not be just 'residue' but it bodes poorly for flexibility.
This culture builds until it is the only acceptable culture and the "way we have been and will always be". There is a building self-fulfilling prophecy that can blind a company to other options and stifle the ability to adapt to changing situations.
This is fine if the market is on the upswing, but deadly where there is a "self-correction".

"Why *do* people feel threatened by photography?" The Pictures Are Stealing Their Souls! Obviously
