Imagine that, instead of a discount loophole, this was a security hole in an open-source program. Morally, I'd want to report it rather than exploit it. It was reported, but then Microsoft saying "Ha! Well no one is going to cancel MSN" is the equivalent of saying "No one's going to exploit this security flaw so I'm not going to fix it" instead of fixing it, people will take advantage of it if they can. When they have finally done so, Microsoft is now forced to correct the loophole by first pulling the deal and then amending the agreement.

(i'm in one, so don't get all worked up, it's a joke:) I know everyone hates the evils of chain emails, but think of how fast this information could be spread to people who otherwise wouldn't know that CSS can be defeated. Who the hell are the lawyers going to pin it on then? (send it to 15 people because it's actually useful) You can even expand it to include things like ICQ (because unless you forward this msg, you're going to be kicked from the system). j
