Hey, I also work in an engineering field where we implement Quadro cards for visualization of largish process plants.
I find this type of work much more intensive compared to for example 3D animation.
Over the months and years I have seen quite a difference between standard and high-end video cards even though the cost between the two often is $550 or even higher at time.
With slow $250 cards the walk throughs are effective when using the full viewing software.
