Haha, I thought the same thing, "They're certainly talking about something... something that... uhhh... apparently is made like crap?"
I would've claimed this to be corporate shill, but the article isn't flattering, and this would be the worst advertisement ever.
I get more information from late night drug commercials than this.
This.
If you don't understand the pipeline and can't communicate enough to head of problems before they happen sitting down, I don't see how standing up is going to help. It's really good for management that likes to micromanage and talk 'velocity'... it is not good in getting everyone to think more efficiently and work better as a team.
This isn't entirely accurate. DDT is not as dangerous to humans because we don't easily absorb it and it kills many things we don't like, such as rodents. However, a big point of the anti-DDT crowd was that DDT was killing Bald Eagles, hawks, pelicans, etc. because it ruined the eggshells so less young were viable.
As the anti-DDT crowd predicted, when we stopped using it the birds bounced back. Your "isn't bad" may be more or less true for humans, but other animals... not so much. It wasn't just a political stunt like you're trying to swing it.
As a Republican voter, why aren't YOU focussing on the air and water quality? If it's easy, and you believe it's important, then step up and hold your party accountable.
Why the hell would you suggest the opposing party do something you want when your party of choice isn't doing it? Are you that worried about being mistaken as for a dirty hippie that you want other people to champion your ideas for you!?
I RTFA article and it sounds acceptable that the EPA can't release all data in all instances. Medical records are their most frequently withheld sources it seems and I agree that they should be withheld. Maybe you're cool with your medical history being thrown online for anyone to search, but I am not. It's bad enough it gets leaked as often as it does. Then there's the mention of confidential industry secrets that could give away an industrial edge and I most certainly understand the EPA's need to regulate things that exist but whose proprietary nature can't be disclosed.
There's not only plenty of scientific evidence, there's also legislation and a Supreme Court ruling supporting it.
Just because your belief system rules out the facts, it doesn't make them any less true.
For a brief moment in time I owned a 1994 Cobra. That was the fastest car I have ever owned and the only one that never yielded a speeding ticket for me! The one time I was actually pulled over for speeding the officer complimented me on the car and shot the shit with me about it for an uncomfortably long amount of time. That was the best, weirdest traffic stop ever. Too bad I never really clicked with the car and it seemed to want to overheat daily... and the gas mileage... that too. The nail in the coffin was when it overheated on back to back dates. It went to a good home for the same price I bought it for. Turns out it had a tiny coolant leak that was dripping precisely on the connection to the electric fans on the radiator, according to the new owner. Did I mention I suck at wiring? I wouldn't mind a newer one like yours. The new 5.0's and new body styles are really refined.
Yeah, I get all of that. Trust me when I say my parents drilled it into me to NEVER talk back or be rude to the police or I may not come home. They even had a collective fit when I picked them up from the airport wearing a black hoodie. It didn't matter that the hoodie is work swag, something everybody wears at the office. There was a lot of prayer on my behalf in that car ride, haha.
Then stop speeding excessively. Why pull all this attention onto yourself?
I accept the consequences of my actions. If I'm speed and get pulled over for a speeding ticket then that's my fault and I'm never rude or defiant.
It's shit like this that makes me laugh at those who complain about the authorities.
I don't recall complaining about the authorities, merely their habit of looking for a problem that doesn't exist..
I'm pretty sure cops really don't give a damn about you or anybody else if they appear clean.
Whoa there buddy. So you're saying when I'm sober I appear unclean!? That's some straight up prejudice right there.
They'll get on your case the minute you act like a dick or show signs of criminal activity.
I'm sure they would, but since I don't "act like a dick" and I'm not a criminal then how do you explain it? Is it my "unclean" ethnicity then? That seems to be what you're implying.
There's a saying I like: "There's not smoke without fire". Cop sees smoke so they look for the fire.
When there is no smoke and they insist there is a fire, what then? How can they suspect drugs when there aren't any? Perhaps you should leave the fire detection to the fire department.
I couldn't believe they got this one right either.
I drive a traffic cop's wet dream, a black Honda Civic Si, which I've had since high school. I've been prone to speed so of course I've been pulled over, but the amount of times I've been forced to wait for a damn drug dog because the police officer gives me some line about 'looking under the influence' has been absurd. Twice in Florida, then twice again when I moved here to California. Police officers INSIST I'm under the influence at nearly every traffic stop. Can't a hispanic male just be speeding and not be doing so under the influence? I'm really happy to see this ruling.

Pretty much, it's just an attempt to restrict the EPA's sources to the pool of data lobbyist can control.

One mention of the EPA and we're already at BIG GUBERMENT CO2 neck collars. I can't believe someone so dumb can use a computer, let alone reads /.
