it is a pity that you don't understand when all people in a nation really belong to ONE nation they really want to be act together. The US will never be able to enjoy this kind union because US folks really don't care each other. The US law may force people to call black people "african americans", but it does not change the fact that mexicans, whites does not care about their african-originated peers that much.
The united states may be united legally, or in name, but will never be "united" in reality, or in people's hearts.
