The ATi Rage Mobility is old and slow. For modern games you need something based on nVidia's mobile geForce chip or the ATi Radeon. PC notebooks have had that graphics chip for four years now, and unlike the powerbook, they have two mouse buttons.
My suggestion is to look for a Notebook with one of those chips (assuming you have the $2k-3k needed to buy it).

    Not True.
I have a cable modem (Cox Cable Phoenix, AZ...uses @Home) that has a minimum 1.5Mbps down, 256kbps up.
I use it to connect from work with ssh and sftp and routinely get transfer rates in the 3-4Mbps range down and 600-800kbps up. And that's for $30/month plus $15/month modem rental!
The DSL in this area (frow USWest now Qwest...an absolutely shitty company!) is 256kpbs down and (I think) 128kpbs up, for a little bit more.

About Manson: If I remember the movie correctly...he killed somebody out on a hippie commune and got busted for that. He also planned and assisted in the murders of Tate and her friends, and the LaBiancas(sp?), hence the conspiracy charge. I wonder if conspiracy to commit murder could be applied to the doctor killing site...probably not unless the DA could prove communication in both directions (like with an email to the webmaster).

The US might have a lot of guns, but the reason we have more gun violence is that only the criminals carry guns. Look at Switzerland, every male over 18 is required by law to have an assault rifle in the house, and they have a really low crime rate. Many Swiss carry guns with them. In the US it's really rare. I live in one of the US States with a very liberal concealed carry law, but don't know anyone who carries a gun. Americans are violent because very few of us were brought up well, and because so many Americans live in poverty (thanks to the welfare system), and have broken homes.

  5. excellent use of fallacy on Intel's Competitor to the Crusoe Processor · · Score: 2

The writer of that article was probably correct about the 500MHz intel chip having performance on par with the 600MHz Transmeta chip.
And he was probably correct about the intel chip running at 300MHz consuming less power than the Transmeta chip.
But I have to ask: Why didn't he combine the two?
How well does the intel chip perform in castration mode? And how much power does it consume at 500MHz?
Of course that's a moot point, because you can only run it at full speed on AC power, even if you wanted to on battery power.
I'd suspect that the Transmeta chip would run circles around the intel chip (laughing the whole time) if they were benchmarked on battery power. And what's the use of running 20% longer if it takes you 120% more time to do anything?
I'd rather have five hours of good performance! (And I'd get a spare battery pack.)

  6. I say we boycott! on Nintendo Sues "Daily Radar" Owners For Pokemon Shots · · Score: 1

Everyone who plays video games whether on the Nintendo or some other platform should write to nintendo@noa.nintendo.com and tell them how unethical this lawsuit is and how we refuse to buy Nintendo products unless they drop the suit and apologize. And if you don't think we can change their minds, just look at how the boycott RMS organized is hurting amazon.com.
I already sent my email off.
