  1. Re:Hmm, not sure about this on Firefox 3.1 Alpha "Shiretoko" Released · · Score: 1

It would be another stupid decision, like hiding the "clear list" button from download manager. Maybe M$ IE agents have sneaked into developers team to claim the old IE empire back!

  2. Re:Awesome bar disable? on Firefox 3.1 Alpha "Shiretoko" Released · · Score: 4, Insightful

Having the choice to disable a such controversial feature is the freedom developers give to the end users. I wish they continue listening to the customers. How much I hate it when a supposedly "addon" features become sticky behaviors of an application. I often do not type the url bar. Google does a better job when I want to find a website

I was waiting for such an application just to run OmniGraphle in my Ubuntu desktop. But seriously, there are not many unique OSX applications to rise the demand for Mac-On-Linux, not even games. Wine has been around for years to reach current stable version.

The whole opt-out procedure is not practical, unless you could check the certificate of the spammer website maybe :) Just click on the opt-out link to assure spammers of an active email address (in the best case).

  5. "Land of opportunities" on H-1B Foes Challenge Bush Administration In Court · · Score: 1

Canada is the new "land of opportunity". H1-B visa is a "visa",while permanent residence (PR) in Canada is like Green Card. The wages are lower in Canada but you get the social benefits, respect, even gratitude and safety in a much friendlier environment. The "Welcome to Canada" that you hear from Canadian immigration officer (regardless of your race) tells you that you are in a truly free country. There are many job opportunities for certain level of expertise and education in all countries that care for tech development. Dont forget that H1-B is supposed to be issued for very high tech jobs, like so many of them which are now empty for years.
