This leaves your entire network open for all sorts of security attacks. It requires almost no knowledge to perform an arp poisoning and sniff for passwords using a man in the middle attack.
The only way i would get on a free network was if I knew the owner. You might as well broadcast your social security number. Who knows what that "free" access point is actually doing (I already mentioned a man in the middle attack) Stealing wifi is a dumb idea for that reason alone.
