Well Said!!! Just finished the Liveship and Runelord series, both very good. I would recomend Shogun by James Clavell and chalenge anyone in a SF/Fantasy rut to do a little genre surfing. Had I not, I would not have ever found Dick Francis, Dean Koontz, Wilbur Smith.
We have this kid that comes in to our computer shop all the time, He calls himself Tweak Monkey and he is alway installing a new mod of some sort. The day after his installed a fan switch mod that had 4 3 position switches that turned his fans of and on in too many combinations to be usefull, he came in all excited and said he almost burnt his house down. He said he his alarm woke him up early in the morning. He tried to shut it off but it would not go off. When he got out of bed he realised his fire alarm was going off and smoke was poring out of his computer.

Obviously, Internet filtering is a touchy subject for a large majority of the net community. But I think if they are going to require filtering in all federally funded orginizations then we should provide the filtering. If schools and librarys have to have filtering it should be available free! If anybody is interested in contributing to this project please email me. you can find out more by checking out HTTP://www.activeguardian.com
Hey, I know.. We should all get together and start a big software company and start making guidelines for applications, we can start by "embracing and extending" proprietary protocols. Or, better yet, get rid of this whole open source crap. Thats whats muddling up the community. We can call it Lino$oft.
Check out Birds of prey and the books that follow also River God. Excelent books.
