    Violating TOS and misrepresenting yourself online is not a jail-able crime, I would hope. If what she did is not a crime, perhaps we should make it a crime, but in that case she will walk.

    There has probably been a memo floating around from the DOJ begging prosecutors to make misrepresenting yourself online a crime to try and force people to use their true identities in all that they conspire against the government(whoops I meant 'do') online. They apparently want to try and introduce an Internet Driver's License for (insert deity of choice)'s sake in Australia.
    I don't know what i will do if I am forced to relinquish my UL ID on /. UL can pretend to be smart and witty with an amazing and wonderful life. If UL is forced to use his real name then people will find out I live in a cardboard box and use the libraries computers (but only on shower day when my smell doesn't overpower other customers). BTW: How do I get GT and LT symbols to appear in comments?

    I read some SF many years ago. When a baby was born it was immediately injected with something that made it possible for it to survive in earth's hideously polluted atmosphere. they didn't have normal drug addicts they had Oxygen sniffers who could die from taking their drug of choice. Does anyone have any idea what story/author this was?

    You call that trying? I can tell you now the qualificatioons in the climate and earth sciences on that list dwarf those on the IPCC list. Including the IPCC authors who wrote dissenting opinions that were never published but they still got listed as authors on the report. that is of course until they threatened to sue the IPCC. but, I guess you wouldn't respect their opinions would you?

    Is a gamer a hobbyist? Would it be possible for a person writing VM software to just interpret all of the D3D calls made by Windows games and just render the output via software(like the original half life as it had D3D, OPENGL, and software modes? Could this be written? Would it just be very slow in translation?

    Although I don't have a suitable yardstick to measure this I suspect that my productivity is higher when I am listening to music. Then again I am at a mixing desk most of the time.
