You didn't explain how that would keep predators from kids. And why just ban porn, why not for example religion? Surely religions have caused many wars and children can be so naive that they begin to believe to those religions and base their valuesystems on them --> inevitable religious wars again...

Also, most would say that many of the images available on the net, things such as beastiality, S&M, etc., are inappropriate at any age. It should be illegal to distribute pictures of sexual activities that are illegal. Simple.
