Um... beyond red tape & lack of funding, nuclear propulsion hasn't developed because it's REALLY FREAKIN' DANGEROUS, and thus banned (at least in space) by the Nuclear Test Ban Treaty...
Could be. Or maybe it's just standard marketroid fumbling, like the trend of giving Spanish names to (usually lousy) Asian cars sold to (largely English-speaking) Americans -- Tiburon, Del Sol, etc.
No, Sony's "WEGA" series has gotta have the worst naming (or maby just the worst logo design) ever -- I'm supposed to pronounce it "VEGA" when it's clearly spelled "WEGA"???
Next you're gonna seriously expect me to pronounce "GNOME" as "guh-nome"... heh.
Thanks, timothy, for perpetuating the stereotype of Minnesota as a technological backwater. It seems strange to me that Georgia has readily been accepted as a technological center, whereas the home of Honeywell and the place where the AS/400 was designed (Minnesota) is generally assumed to be backward and hickish.
...why doesn't someone just set up/. to AUTOMATICALLY link to every CNet story? It seems that so many of their stories get referred to here, it'd just save all of us a lot of effort....or MAYBE we could all just check news.com regularly!
Sheesh.
Don't forget Disney, yet another lumbering dinosaur, and even worse in its own way: Disney has always struck me as wanting to be wholesome and amusing first, with accuracy coming in a distant second (remember Pocahontas?)

Also, the proper link to VIA would be: http://www.via-pc.com/
Thank you, Benedict "Hemos" Arnold.
No, it helps you stop being French more quickly.
