First of all Moore's law states that processing power doubles every 18 months, not every 12.
2.) China and India will never offer increased marketplace when their people are oppressed by communist regimes.
3.) There will always be a place for movies. My grandmother wants to watch Kevin Kostner, not play a game.
I agree with most of your point except for the statement "There really is not much that we can do about them [tolitarian states]". As long as we, the people, are an armed society we *CAN* do something about our government becoming tolitarian. That is why our 2nd amendment exists, to protect our liberties from an oppresive government. We need only read the statements of our founding fathers to realize this.
James Madison, writing in Federalist 46, made a similar promise concerning the U.S. Constitution:
"Besides the advantage of being armed, which the Americans possess over the people of almost every other nation, the existence of subordinate governments, to which the people are attached and by which the militia officers are appointed, forms a barrier against the enterprises of ambition more insurmountable than any which a central government of any form can admit of. Notwithstanding the military establishments in the several kingdoms of Europe, which are carried as far as the public resources will bear, the governments are afraid to trust the people with arms.
Noah Webster sought to quell the fears of the Pennsylvania anti-federalists with these words:
"Before a standing army can rule, the people must be disarmed; as they are in almost every kingdom of Europe. The supreme power in America cannot enforce unjust laws by the sword; because the whole body of the people are armed and constitute a force superior to any band of regular troops that can be, on any pretense, raised in the United States."
Remember, throughout history, oppressed people have first been disarmed. Drubbly
