I started as an intern during my senior year, and eventually was promoted to FTE, but was given so much work I had to give up school. At this point I'm being paid the same as a graduate due to my 1 1/2 yrs experience, so a diploma for me would be pointless.
grind it out for a year or so and you'll be able to double your meager intern salary easily.
