I can't agree more. For the last six months or so, all of my friends (and myself) who are PC gaming fans have been saying - we will buy an entirely new PC after doom 3 comes out. I shudder to think at the number of ppl world wide who are saying exactly the same thing.
So... is id software responsible for the downturn in computer purchases?? =P
Now there is a thought that appeals to a white knuckle flyer like myself...
Why don't all planes carry parachutes for cases of total engine failure? Can any one explain why this isn't the case for at least a light plane, if not a 747?
He just ripped out all the fans and used a cardbox box around the HD:) Sure, it gets a bit warm, but with an older PC (it's an intel pentium from a few years back) it kicks along just fine - no burnouts yet.
