What would happen if geeks formed their own party? Would a real geek have a chance? Are there enough geek votes out there? (I would vote for anyone showing COMMON SENSE on these issues. Are we in a minority?)

At least the matrix was a simulation that enveloped the user. Believe me, a body that disappears from the material plane and into the computer plane (and comes back) using only laser tag equipement and a "mainframe" is the real trick!

Now even small kids can get a machine gun of their own. Sort of a "starter kit." Sorry, this does not seem like a good idea to me no matter how creative.
What would really be cool is a web site that shows nothing but popular commercials on demand. It would get lots of traffic! (e.g. You see a funny commercial, you tell your pal to check it out on the site x lots of people.)
Stuff like this is CRAZY. Let's just start patenting every good idea no matter how fundamental to human progress. Lets nickle+dime every product developer. Lets not stop even after it becomes impossible to write a computer program without infringing on dozens of obscure patents! I feel sorry for the guy that invented the IF - THEN concept and did was not rewarded financially for it throught his own ignorance of patent law!

If your mail server is hosted in Colorado, can you get protection from this law? If so, I'm going to ask my ISP to relocate to Colorado!
ISP should be responsible for attacks by its users. ISPs can monitor for strange packets like those that have invalid IP addresses or none at all.

Well put RL. This whole thing stinks! (There is something generally flawed with allowing software patents. This situation illustratates that point.)
