The Gimp *ucking sucks. PERIOD. Now before you jump all over me read the rest of my post. First most of the people who thinks that the gimp is the shiznez, aren't graphic designs, they are more or less nerds, geeks, and techies. As a graphic design for a large firm, i can tell you that the gimp is very poor and lacking in most of the features required in design and creation, not to meantion color calibration schemes. I have used the gimp for quite sometime now, because i like linux, and wanted to see how it comparies with Adobe Photoshop. There is no comparison, sure the gimp offers complex features, but in the realworld it will always be just a toy. Sorry, peace out.

As a developer of UNIX, and BSD kernels and related technology I can tell you that all betas and pre-releases of UNIX based OSes are generally slow, the current public beta i'm running on an older iMac would eat your linux alive in speed. I've done some extensive test, and would love to post the results, Apple spend several years developing directly with Berkley on there BSD version, and it combines the best of all variants of unix. It is awesome. Just ask compaq who has been begging Apple to switch to it's hardware platform.
OS X has native support built in for disturbuted computing of all the os's functions... Think one giant super computer. Much like neXt OS. Only Better. Steve Jobs though smart.

First losses? Apple is the number #1 selling computer for the last 2 years. Stupid dumb people use them? Eat Shit. I use NT all day long at work and Linux... I can't wait to get home to my 'stupid' mac because it is about 3 times faster. It will clean off the floor with NT. Not to meantion have you ever used OS X? Or done anything else? Almost all of the computer shit you touch has somehow been influenced by Apple... Next time think before you talk out your ass.
Or next time you wanna see something that shaves 45 minutes off my rendertime over NT or linux, check out my stupid crappy little mac...

If you are really worried about security then send your data in STEGO pictures to hide it. Don't encrypt it so much. A STRONG WALL invites a beating... but a wall you can't detect well, YOU will live it the HELL alone:-)
My mom runs a not profit organization called Friend2Friend which helps poor people, and refugees who recently entered our country.
Hundreds of people offer to donate stuff, everybody wants to donate their old clothes, blankets, toys, ect.
But do you know what? Nobody wants to donate their time.
Give time, the best way to help is look for no profit organizations in a phone book, let them know that you want to help out. Not with money. Just help. That makes a true contribution and not the halfass attempt so many people use to get rid of their old junk.
There is nothing like seeing a poor sad person with a broken spirit make a new friend. TEACH others so they can teach too. Knowledge is the most awesome donation ever. It will filter down like a DNS update...:-)

why doesn't anybody check this stuff out? mpeg4 is based on quicktime! to everyone who is ranting about quicktime sucking, it is funny that you support MPEG4, you obviously didn't do your homework... MPEG4 is technically just a quicktime format! Apple developed MPEG 4 to be the standard for video and web and to replace the other variants of MPEG 4! Do you research, and you will see that MPEG4 is from apple. Mediaplayer for windows is terrible... i can't stand it... i can't stand avi. For what it is worth quicktime is so much better... and it is the standard for web,video editing, graphics... AND realplayer don't even get me started on that bloatware, that has a terrible GUI. Trying to run realplayer (latest version) on my mac g4 500 with 256MB ram and 10,000 rpm scsi2 and it still sucks... Mediaplayer for mac isn't much better. And realplayer for windows is just as bad... Quicktime on the pc works awesome, but you have to tweek a few settings first, otherwise you will be FRUSTRATED..
one more thing, neither of my friends will (who work at NASA) will tell me anymore, because they are afraid of losing their jobs. But they both have in the past told me about an instance in the early 90's where a HAM DX operator actually used some sorta protocal (i know nothing about HAM radio) and telneted into the space shuttle. Apparently the telnet login was as a emergency command incase mission control need another access control point. Anyway the HAM operator called NASA on it right away... Hmm, not my first choice:-) Anyway it is somewhere in the 20GHz range this telnet and the shuttle communications.
I know for a fact, that when first started they used a modified basic interpreter with 286s. As of now they are using a variant of NeXt based on IBM PowerPC Processors. The NeXt operation system allowed Nasa to quickly and effeciently develop object oriented code and applets for the gages and such. Not to meantion they can easily reconfigure them. I know several of the onboard consoles actually have StrongARM processors running behind them. One of the engineers who works as NASA commented that the StrongARM is the exact same one used in the Newton 2000 from Apple Computer. I know at one time NASA was considering using OS Warp but they didn't want something that was hard to support. Also several of the console systems are rumored to have a g3 or two running inside there... Everything i have just told i got straight from the NASA engineers. Three of my life time drinking buddys:-) I would apreciated, NOT having my host exposed. Thank-you.
