I remember my first Hayes modem. A 300bps S-100 plugin card. I also remember when Concord (I believe that was the name of the company) so the rights to their AT command set to Hayes. Hayes didn't invent it, but buy purchasing it they set the standard for th AT style commands.
It's been a long ways from the 300bps to the T1's and frac T3 is use now.
