  1. Re:This is absolutely the wrong idea on UN Wants to Combat Online Racism · · Score: 1

This is also a very good analysis. I agree that to a great extent, things like affirmative action separate and group people even more, making it easier to hate. Although, I must point out that racism is not simply about hate. There is also so-called "positive" racism, in which you have a kind of better view of a certain race. People almost always think of racism in the "negative" way. But, thats a good deal beyond the point, if education truly was fair in opportunity, and there wasn't economic segregation etc.. I would certainly almost completely agree, but that is not the case. The problem is that, since we (in a broad sense) created these problems in the past through the actions of certain ancestors, there is some evidence in favor of attempting to right those wrongs. Of course, it can be argued either way... well, I am not exactly on topic with your argument. But, perhaps I have conveyed some useful information.

Very interesting, good analysis as well. Education is really at the root of solving almost all of our current social problems. People so often fail to realise this.

Exactly! Very good analysis. And don't forget to remind people to stop their stupid inflammatory talk of piracy. It can only make things worse.

What are you smoking? Don't you realize that this kind of talk is only inflammatory. Sure, the encryption algorithm is a piece of shit, but do you even know how it works? I would doubt that. On top of the fact that exactly as in an article I read recently, why bother with this DeCSS stuff anyway? Soon enough, when DVD-Rs become cheaper you could simply copy bit by bit onto a DVD-R. You could in fact do this to your hard disk. There are many MANY ways of copying a DVD. The POINT of DeCSS is to be able to make a linux DVD player. Simply stop being stupid, talk like this will only HURT the situation.
