Solar wouldn't even come close to offsetting jet fuel. A commercial airliner requires HUGE amounts of energy to fly that much weight at speeds around 500mph.
It could be used to provide electrical power to an airplane but the savings would be minimal.
Damn when will people get this. Freedom of Speech ONLY covers Government repression of expressing views. You are free and welcome to stand on the street corner and tell people how much you do not like the US government. As long as you are not disturbing people no one will stop you in any way.
It really only means you can freely speak your mind about the government without fear of being arrested or killed. When posting to a revenue generating site they have a right to restrict you as they see fit. Freedom of Speech was never meant to cover private industry, just no government intervention.
Use the best of both worlds approach. I typically have offered remote administration but through a webex or live meeting session. That way you can watch what they are doing without getting in the way but also maintain control if you feel they are up to no good.
I took over for a shop where they had allowed complete access to an outside support company and I cut them off immediately. Not necessarily because I didn't trust them but because I didn't want any changes being made that I was not aware of. Nothing more frustrating than having to troubleshoot something without all of the information.
