The way this is worded, doesnt it sound like he is a washed up LS-120 salesman? Why not just shout "PLEASE!! buy one of these slow drives with a not startling amount of capacity!!!" Almost seems like I fell asleep and woke up to one of those horrid commercials you see only in the wee hours of the morn. (Wait wouldnt I coding at that time of night anyway, hmm..) The only part he forgot to mention is that you can make up on all that lost sleep waiting for linux to boot off one of these drives. My 2 cents.

I feel sorry for MS's customer service dept for this one.. I mean they are people, just working for a really immoral company. (I wonder if they will start needing to take all sharp objects away from these people)
How many people do you think will call up and complain that they do OWN a licences and want the software that goes with it.
Another question that im not sure if it is even true. Couldnt you (with proof of ownership of a licences) call MS and demand that since you own the licences they send you another copy (even at minimal cost(S&H and maybe media)) since the CD was "destroyed"? I mean by this, you do OWN the licences, why the hell shouldnt you have the software that goes with it?
This case to me seems to determine whether or not linking to illegal or questionable content itself is illegal. And if the RIAA loses wouldnt Napster be able to use that in saying that they in actuality arent hosting the illegal mp3's but in actually are just linking them. Or would this be negated since they update their database whenever someone logs in or out.
Also couldnt the 2600 lawsuit profit from this as well? Seriously, I see this case to be a huge stepping stone in many cases, being that this may be just the case to determine what the US Judicial system's outlook is upon being held liable for linking. Only time will tell though.
Student goes to jail for owning a cassette tape with music from a friends cd! -Related story- VHS tapes now illegal. I mean come on already.. even with VHS tapes and people copying movies and even recording them off of tv the movie industry can still afford to put out million dollar budget movies. And people still go to see them! just my two cents on it

Just a thought bouncing around in my head.
