  1. Why is MS troll Rambone consistently up-moderated? on Netscape 6/Mozilla Beta Release in 25 Days · · Score: 0
Respectfully, would the moderators please get a clue? Rambone's constantly pushing out garbage like "Linux desktop's a joke" "Real Player drools, Windows Media rules" and like crap, but for some mysterious reason people keep popping these trolls up to three -- and higher.

Come on, guys, please pay attention and moderate reasonably.

Well, if you support spamming of the whois list, by all means. Bezos seems to have taken a pretty enlightened and open approach to this whole converstaion, which is cause for hope, considering the actions of other companies lately in response to criticism (like Symantec, for instance). If you're going to troll, do your research first. This was barely worthy of Usenet, much less /.

  4. Re:Not really a point anymore on More on Athlon Overclocking · · Score: 1
You're right. What's interesting to me is that while chip manufacturers (Intel in particular) have made it much harder to overclock their chips, other hardware producers, especially high-end graphics cards, often have clock control built into the Windows drivers.

It's an interesting divergence of philosophy, and it'll be cool to see if AMD learns something from the positive reaction to this and offers something similar.

I think we're all missing the *real* problem here: sengan is not, as many of has hoped, gone. Or he's returned. Either way it's bad news. I look forward to many more random, inappropriate and incoherent article postings, accompanied by bizarre interpretations of the law and nonsequitor comments. As Pokey would say, HOORAY!

  6. Re:The down side to open source. on LinuxOne Lite: First Looks · · Score: 2

I don't think this is really a downside -- LinuxOne can, and will, meet its end as it is crushed by its obviously more superior competition. The freedom of market and distribution Linux offers gives companies like LinuxOne the opportunity, but the same freedom ensures their failure, and that's great.

Um, you're wrong- the judge does forsee a victory for the plaintiff. He was pretty specific: "I don't think there's the slightest question that plaintiffs have a very good chance of success," Judge Kaplan said in issuing his decision.

I've had differences with them over crypto before, but when it comes down to who's going to defend against this kind of garbage, only the EFF has been there for us. Join. Join now.
