Let's not forget this tidbit from Ralph Nader's anwsers to slashdot reader's questions.
Mr Nader--
I am opposed to patents on software, and opposed to patents on business methods. I believe that parody should be protected in copyright and trademark, that copyright enforcement should not override privacy rights, and that use of patents, trademarks and copyrights should be limited by fair use, and when necessary, compulsory licenses.
The public domain should be protected, and public figures need to speak out against the ever-escalated march of corporate lobbying for expanding intellectual property rights.

Its official, this story is another move by Roblimo to continue his underhanded scheme to get Nader elected.!

First off, you can build your own midi interface for the palm for less than $10. Do a search on the web and you should be able to find it.
Secondly, I'd like to hear this next to the Roland PMA-5, a hand-held device that provides a 18 note polyphony and effects, which now goes for $300 dollars new. It isn't much bigger, but provides more features. (and also guzzles your battery pretty quickly) PMA-5 review
Ok, those issues aside, I'm glad to see people making music on their palm. I'm hoping somebody comes out with some handspring modules that do similar things too, and I've also seen some cool synth programs written for gameboy.
I'm not going to be greedy on this one. With a bit of ip spoofing, I'll send some fakemail from say, The Rebpulican Party, to Green Peace. Or better yet, from msn.com to slashdot.org. The possibilities are endless. But then again, they'd probably go after/. for fraud:(
