... make sure you have a swap partition, so if you ever need to do a memory dump, it can do it right to the partition. Logic follows that you would need to have the swap partition at least as big as your memory.
Also look ahead to any potential memory additions.
I do my swap partitions 100 MB larger than my physical RAM max size just to be safe.
