To bad! According to current thoery proposed by Einstein, and many of his believers nothing can travel faster than the speed of light and that which does looses mass. The loosing mass part has been proven in lab test as a particle like an electron is accelerated to the speed of light it gets lighter. There have been many who believe that because of this, light is considered the maximum speed limit. Try watching discovery as that is where they mentioned this.

"But that doesn't mean that we will ever necessarily create a faster-than-light mode of transportation."

True, but maybe we'll find a way to bend space or warp time so that we do not need to travel faster than the speed of light, but that we can travel through time by bending space. There have been theories proposed that if you bend space and make two points that are light years apart at the same point in time then you can travel through space in a shorter period of time. It is actually confusing and better explained as if space were a sheet of paper. If you have a hole at two ends of this paper, and this piece of paper, then you fold the paper in half the holes are now much closer and the travel time is near 0 if these holes are next to each other. So the question then becomes is it possible to bend space?

It would take to long traveling at what scientists today call the maximum speed limit 'the speed of light'. Maybe someday when we understand space and time better but not now.

Watch Discovery channel now and then as they already went over alot of this stuff. They made a discovery a while ago and discovered how to detect the 'gas giants' as they call them (jupiter / sturn sized planets) orbiting a star by watching the stars wabble.

Of course the palm does not do multitasking, multiprocessing or anything like that and when you close an app it is usually sent back to its initial state.

No calculations cause it is all done in a spread sheet. This can be done in excel , gnumeric, star office or any other spread sheet. You have to know what form(s) to fill out. But that is not that difficult. One you set up the spread sheet you just add to it and update it. Many of the tax forms really have not changed that much the only things that have changed are what you can itemize and the tax laws so the spread sheet should not change that much from year to year and you can add sheets as you need them. Next year I'll add 1099 sheets. It would be real nice if the US gov used these and distributed them. Think about it you just fill out the forms that you get for your taxes like 1099 and W2 and 4xxx.

If you have just one employeer and no interest or less than 400 in interest and no stocks or bonds or investments, you could probably use a 1040EZ. Other wise you may need a 1040.

Even if you did use turbo tax or one of the other programs you'd have to fill out your w2 forms, and 1099 and any other forms. I'd recomend breaking down and spending the 20 or 30 for Turbo Tax if you have lots of forms especially if you recieved some of those 4000 series forms.

Expect 5 to 10 seconds for someone to 'scan' your resume with their eyes. If you are lucky or something sticks out then it will get a second glance. Many get dumped rather quickly though.

Also if you are emailing or faxing, your resume may not get looked at based solely on your cover letter. Be ware of 'typoes and misspelllings', especially on the cover letter but also on the resume.

Yes, if you have more than 10 years 'relevant' experience (yes leave out the bagging groceries thing and waiting tables) then 2 pages is acceptable. When an organization like Berkley get over 10 thousand resumes at a job fair do you really think that they look at EVERY one for more than a glance? I'd have to think not. They don't have the time. Your lucky if you get to chat with them for more than 30 seconds.

The resume is there to get you the interview. Basically to spark an interest in you, not to tell your entire life history.

Number 1 on the resume is skills and application of those skills. They want to scan and see perl if you are applying for a position that is requiring that. As well as C if they require that. Also they want to see years and what you did. Not perl code, but "I created perl scripts for oracle to sybase conversion" works if you did something like that. Details are left out to entice them to want to talk to you about the details. If they have all the details in your resume then they man or may not be inclined to talk to you.

Last time I was looking for a job I sent out many resumes and got LOTS of responses. I had numberous interviews and was somewhat picky of what I took. And this was at the beginning of the recession. Hey my resume served its purpose of getting me to the point of talking to the person on the phone and many an interview. I think my resume is set up rather well otherwise I would not have gotton the responses that I did. I don't have that much experience, but it was an eye catcher.

There are also many books out there that talk about resumes and they have 'proper' expected formats of resumes and mines fall right in there with the 'proper' format of a resume, so I must have done something right.
