I'm a Young Liberal and I'm appalled by this new firewall. Adults have a mind of their own, and I don't believe the Govt. should regulate content in this manner. How far does "it's for your own good" have to go before people wake up and realise what's going on, and the dangerous can of worms it opens up?
What you can do though is set up a committee. Find people who are involved in this, in either a technical, legal or political capacity, and are opposed to this new measure, and have them meet to formulate their stand points, and reasons why this is a bad idea. You might also want to get politicians across both divides on board (as long as they oppose the measure), and someone to chair it who is politically savvy. This should allow you to get media exposure and put a lot more pressure on the Govt. than phone calls, letters or petitions ever will.
If you need any more help, I'm always open to give further suggestions for this cause.
