Most people don't buy tablets for either of those reasons. They buy iPads because everyone else has an iPad, and they don't want to get left behind. The few who buy Android often want them specifically for their lower cost, so they don't have to hand their iPads to the kids on long car trips. I sold laptops and tablets for a year and some change, and the tech community's perception of consumer values vs the reality is pretty skewed.
The difference here is that Gizmodo wrote huge articles practically screaming about how they paid five grand for Apple's prototype iPhone. On a popular news outlet. Read by millions of people.
That admission alone should guarantee Chen and his boss some jail time; there's no way you can say "Oops, didn't know this was a bad thing to do!" when they paid five grand for it. That payment dug the hole they're sitting in now.
Just something I figured you folks might want, even though it's probably more redundant than the term "backup tape drive". fmoody@seattleweekly.com Happy flaming. codespace
One COULD say that with the sheer volume of helpful programs, texts, pdfs, etc, that the role of the hardcopy manual is minimal. But what if you can't access the electronic medium? what if the vital info you need to fix your unbootable machine is in that electronic format? What then? Stick with hardcopies, until every possible computer bug is fixed (sic).

Ok, first off, try epinions.com for yer recommendations. Secondly, Nokia'll probably end up being your best bet. Thirdly, the amount of RF radiation emitted by a cellphone isn't enough to kill a rat with 2 years of constant exposure. God I hate people who assume silly things like that. And just because yer phone is wired DOES NOT mean it doesn't radiate. Any metal with an electrical current running through it will radiate. And please please please don't drive while using the phone.
I work for an insurance company in metro Phoenix, and i'm "on the clock" for 50 hours a week, but i end up with another nearly 30 hours a week from coordinating meetings, going over everyone else's work, and updating our aging system. And that's not even mentioning the commute.
Robert Anson Heinlein is about the best pulp scifi author i've ever read. There's precious few other authors in the genre worth readin, but I've found Kevin J. Anderson to be worth reading every now and then, even if his writing is a tad juvenile. I've heard that there are other worthwhile authors in scifi, but I've yet to see hide nor hair of them. T.A.N.S.T.A.A.F.L. !

I'm not sure I follow. Wait, no, I'm positive that I don't see the corollary you're trying to make.
What does timeliness of inventions of items/processes/ideas have to do with America getting bombed by the Japanese during WW2?
