I have sent a number of emails to nes organizations after seeing a bad story on a tech issue and usually I get an email back that confirms my beleif that most reporters dont really have enough knowledge to report on these issues. Fight back, speak back. But, always remember that you are taken for more seriously if you refrain from those lovely four letter words. in the end, this is a public relations issue where the dvd industry is just embarassed that their por encryption key was broken so easily. All the more reason to use netscape. In netscape, all your cookies are stored in a single text file. Simply open the file and delete everything with a reference to double-click or any other site whose cookie you dont want. Then save the file and change the permisions to read-only. The result is that no more cookes can be placed on your computer. Under Micro$oft I.E. the only option is to find the double click cookie (also a text file) and emtpy its contents and then do the same, but then they wll just give you a new one so its kinda hopeless. On a side note, I wonder how many John Does living at Nil street with a zip code of 12345 they have in their database? it's stange that the internet used to be a place of openess and free exchange of information. Now, these guys give us a reason to lie about everything. The REALY strange thing is that i dont think our privacy is being threatened as much by our government. but big business is sre trying to make it a thing of the past.
Netscape, Internet $explorer, and now Aol al ask to become the default during installation. The problem is that Aol seems to be the only one that can't do it without screwing something up. Although, the biggest problem is also AOl's biggest success. Aol is the definitive Internet for Dummies. Its not hat the problem is so bad but that the users are just no competent to fix it. Oh hummmm Maybe Aol just wants to be default so it can make sure you get all your spam mail in a fast and expedient manner.
