Indeed. My college passes the 2p/MB charge onto students once they use more than 100MB. I find I rarely need any transatlantic bandwidth though given the good availability of mirrors and proxies. It's not unusual for me to use more than 100MB a day (mmm, dist-upgrade :) yet I only used 13MB of non-janet traffic last term.

Deb won't install on a 200mb hard drive. At least, not with the stuff you need (basic tools, no X, and a compiler) turned on. I've tried it (using a 20mb swap). I even left the compiler out, still didn't work. Yes, Deb has a smaller footprint, but Slack can shuffle in at 100mb. Perfect for my 486/DX 50.

Rubbish. I've got Debian on a 386/SX with 3MB RAM and a 200MB hard disk. This includes gcc and a good set of tools, although no X. I've also got Debian on my 486/SX firewall with a 100MB hard disk and there's still plenty of room for logs.

If Bill Gates didn't have such an excessive amount of money I very much doubt he'd donate to charities. With the amount that he's got it's not like he's going to miss it much - and what would he do with it once he's dead anyway? I'm sure he'll make sure his family are all as well off as they need to be. His motivation for donating to charities is more likely from the boost in public opinion that it'll give him rather than a desire to help people.
