I think the reason only those games work is because all the others did at least some graphic overlaying on the laserdisk movie. Since the player hooks directly to the TV with this emulator, that isn't possible.
There are screenshots of other games being played, so it might support the overlays when using mpeg movies, but I couldn't find any information about that on the site.

Mobile Battleship Nadesico is excellent. I think the makers read The Stars my Destination by Bester. There's also a few other references to classic Science Fiction in the series -- "The Cold Equations" and "The Twilight Zone" come to mind. The send up of old-school giant robot anime and anime fans in general is great, too.
I also like Giant Robo. It pretty much is an old-school giant robot anime, but on a grand scale, with a more complex plot (and more violence) than something like Voltron. I thought the first tape was weak, but it got a lot better.
Unfortunately, neither of these are available on DVD yet.
Even if you do accept this guy's theory (and like most everyone else, my bs-ometer pegged a few time while reading it), how would you apply it to multicelled life, especially those with dedicated sex organs? What enviromental influences can an egg or sperm cell respond to by "entering a quantum state" and "choosing" a mutation? I don't see how anything but mutation and recombination can effect evolution at this scale.
