since, even though one can have a Unix-
compatibility layer, one isn't required to
do so.
When discussing freedom in software, a distinction
has been drawn between freedom to do what one
desires (i.e. modify, distribute, use for whatever
purpose), referred to as "free speech", versus
having no cost, referred to as "free beer".
A binary-only freeware is free as in "free beer",
but not free as in "free speech".
