Oops. You mean a $100 Linksys hub. However, if you really know where to get a new or used router for a hundred bucks I'll buy it... And I'll eat my new pad of post-it notes too! BTW, it more than likely IS using ethernet. I'm just guessing that their satellite system was designed back in the days when they didn't really figure they'd have to handle residential IP distridution. That's a sham, err, shame! At any rate, they'll have to produce a two-way, no-router access system before I would ever sonsider it. Well, nothing's ever written in stone.

That doesn't make sense. Why would YOU stop people from imitating YOUR style? I mean, it's YOUR style isn't it? Maybe you don't mind if your style gets ripped off. Maybe you do. "small time themer" could have asked first and ripped off later. Maybe Apple IS concerned about market confusion. They know more about that than I do. They might even know more about that than YOU do.

I would also say that it is rather petty of them to go after small time themers, that pose no threat to their business.

Okay, you got me there. But what about the poor schmuck college grad working for two years out of college, working at Apple, pouring his/her creativity and soul into making that beautiful aqua interface? Maybe they're only making 25k per year and have to face a layoff next year because nobody gives a shit about Aqua anymore because anyone can get it anywhere for free now?

In court, you would have to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that everyone knows it's not osx. Which, I'm sure you would agree is a far-fetched proposal at best. Not everyone knows it isn't osx. Some people don't even know what an os is. Hard to believe but very true -and to a larger extent than you think. And really, that's beside the point. In Apple's case, osx is trade dress. The reason being that someone could use Aqua-ish graphics being *displayed* on a wintel pc to aid in the sale of that pc and thereby affect Apple's sales. Actually, I think there would be a better argument for this by calling it a willful dilution of product value by another company. But I'm not a student of law and I may have that wrong.

C'mon guy! Your reasoning behind not doing business with Apple means you shouldn't be doing business with anyone. Maybe you should go into business for yourself. Wow! There's been something I haven't liked about the MS-.NET idea that's really been irking me. And it's not because it's a MS deal being crammed down people's throats. Sure looks like a flow of something. I'm surprised I haven't heard that it may actually be oil or some other liquid with a high boiling point. Does it have to be water? Another point that contradicts the contradiction that it was actually made by snow or a glacier a long time ago is the fact that one of the sequnces in the JPL archive shows a picture of a crater a year or two ago and one from recently with a significant geological change. If you look at the trail a boulder left on the side of the crater after it fell down it sure gives you the impression that what you see is what you get. I mean, the trail it left looks like a boulder rolled down the side of a sandy crater wall! So that suggests to me that if I see what looks like a flow, it's probably a flow. And it's probably recent. All the other boulder trails have already been filled in with sand or else we'd see them everywhere. Question is, how long does it take for the sand to cover the boulder trail? Guess we'll just have to wait and see. We know where to look now at least.

If a customer wants their money back AND they want to keep the program... Do it! Let any customer rape you so they don't become indignant and call their lawyer. Or worse yet, bad-mouth your company to anyone, especially a potential customer. This is true on any level. And you can easily afford to do this because you followed the number one rule of business in the free market economy: "Charge what the market will bear." And as a side-note from my own experience, do not ever get PO'd at your partner(s) because things are going WAAAY slower than any of you had anticipated.
