Create a disk image with a tool such as dd and calculate the md5 hash of the resulting file. Require the forensic expert to do the same and agree that the hashes are the same. Then you have a control which will allow you to detect a tampered disk image.
There are studies out there that claim the aerodynamic benefit of having the windows up is greater than the additional load on an engine from running the A/C. So they also need to legislate rolling up the windows in you non A/C, non black car. For once I'd rather see $$$$$ pissed away studying this rather $$$$$ pissed away implementing it.
After being out of programming for 25 years (I was and am a lawyer) I went back and earned a MS in computer engineering at age 57. Now I am out of the lawyer work 3,000 hours a year rat race. I now make a decent living consulting and managing a number of small systems while working less than half as much. Breadth of experience, business skills and people skills are all essential additions (but not a substitute for) programming competence, all of which comes with age. Don't analyze this to death, just do it.
