Please ask your Dad where I can find a dog that will live for the next 50-60 years.
I mean, if he's expecting his new PC's to live five times longer than average, I should be able to find that in a pet, right? I know he probably doesn't like all that fuss changing machines and paying somebody to set everything up and retraining on new software every three or four years. What a bother!
But, I don't appreciate paying somebody every 10 years to help set up a new dog and get him broken in. All those puppy shots, peeing on the floor, obedience training, missing socks and chewed up slippers. I figure if I can find a dog that'll last five decades I'll just stick with that. Oh, it'll run really slow towards the end of its life but it should still be reliable enough for me.
Maybe he has some other tips... What parts would he expect to wear out first? Should I keep any spares on hand? Should I try to find one with no moving parts in the first place? Will vacuuming it out every year or so help?
